AC Gold Secure HMO Upgrade Project for Heriot Watt University
AC Gold, one of Scotland’s fastest growing electrical contractors, has been awarded the contract to carry out the HMO upgrade works for three accommodation blocks at Heriot Watt’s Riccarton Campus on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
The company successfully beat off 88 companies in a competitive tender situation to land the CDM contract which is due to be completed by early August 2009.
The contract will see AC Gold carry out the essential upgrades in the three accommodation blocks over the summer period including the replacement of the emergency lighting, joinery works and decorative repairs
AC Gold’s Managing Director, Alasdair Campbell said,
“We are delighted to have secured the upgrade project based on our quality of submission, our experience in similar CDM projects but most importantly the competitiveness we are able to achieve thanks to our professional approach to business.”
AC Gold has grown steadily since its formation in 2005 with a vision of establishing itself as the most professional electrical contractor in the country and a commitment to only ever employing its own full time electricians to carrying out works.
Alasdair continued,
“We like to do things a bit differently at AC Gold to provide clients with a quality service that they can rely upon which means that we never subcontract electrical works or use agency staff. Instead we prefer to build our company based on a proactive recruitment programme that combines our highly successful apprenticeship programme with rigorous testing of qualified sparks both on their technical skills and their customer service.”
The company’s professional approach has also resulted in a growing number of enquiries from clients who are looking for AC Gold to project manage additional works such as the joinery, decorative and mechanical packages.
Alasdair explained,
“Although we are an electrical contractor first and foremost, we have developed a number of partnerships with businesses who share our commitment for first class service and exceptional quality which has enabled us to take on wider packages with the confidence that our reputation will only be enhanced.”
The results have proved highly successful for the company who have gone from strength to strength since 2005 and now employ over 40 staff.
