We made a commitment at the outset to never employ agency staff or sub contract any work that we can undertake ourselves. This one small aspect has enabled us to grow our business safe in the knowledge that we are in full control of quality , service and client satisfaction.

We already have a number of young apprentices working with us including Ashley, our first female apprentice. Our hard working apprentices are comfortably meeting – and often exceeding their targets and, due to their dedication, as well as the time and effort invested in them by the Company, they are well on their way to a successful, long term career. We are very proud of our apprentices and consider them a real asset to the Company.

As a leading electrical contractor we make it our responsibility to make safe any dangerous electrical works discovered. We also offer a full remedial works quotation for all defaults that are discovered during the periodic inspection and test. We can provide an on the spot repair service, or a planned electrical maintenance package which would see the upgrading of your electrical system carried out over a period of time to suit your electrical maintenance budget.
If the electrical installation has any faults, they will be listed under the section of observations and recommendations and will be given one of the following codes:

• code one – requires urgent attention
• code two – requires improvement
• code three – requires further investigation
• code four – does not comply with current BS7671 standards

When should you have this test carried out?
IEE recommends the maximum time between periodic inspections to be as follows;

In addition to this both domestic and commercial properties should have this test carried out;

• Upon a change of occupancy of the premises.
• Upon a change of use of the premises.
• If you have made any alterations/ additions to the original electrical wiring.
• Where there is reason to believe that damage may have been caused to the electrical installation for example after flooding.

PAT Testing (Portable Appliance Testing)
AC Gold Electrical are specialists in Portable Appliance Testing and provide a professional, efficient and reliable service and aim to cause little or no disruption to the daily activities of the building occupants.

During the test we will carry out minor remedial works such as changing incorrect sized fuses, remake, or replace damaged plug-tops, therefore enabling us to pass appliances which would otherwise unnecessarily fail.

We use a straight forward but effective administration system for all portable appliance testing that is carried out, making this easy and effective for your maintenance records and meaning that repeat years are straightforward and stress free.

As a leading electrical contractor we are focused on customer/tenant service and use only the most reputable manufacturers and make it our responsibility to carry out all remedial works to ensure we leave the property electrically compliant with as little disruption as possible.

Here at AC Gold Electrical we suggest carrying out a periodic inspection and testing of your fixed electrical installation to BS7671:2008 IEE Wiring Regulations to determine whether your property requires electrical rewiring or electrical maintenance.

We also provide a reactive maintenance service, or a planned electrical maintenance package which would see the upgrading of your electrical system carried out over a period of time to suit your electrical maintenance budget.

Here at AC Gold Electrical we suggest carrying out a home energy survey to determine whether your property is suitable for an electric wet heating system.

Following an EPC survey the property is given a rating on a scale of A-G (A being the most efficient, G the least efficient).

The EPC is accompanied by an associated Energy Report. This provides further information regarding the energy efficiency of the property. It includes;

• Recommendations of cost effective improvements that could be carried out to the property to improve its energy efficiency and save you money. The recommendations are split into two sections:
• those that could be carried out at a relatively low cost (below £500) and those that would incur a higher cost (over £500)
• The property’s estimated annual energy use.
• Carbon dioxide emissions.
• Fuel running costs based upon current energy use.

Once your EPC survey has been carried out we will provide you with your very own, obligation free, tailored Energy Performance Plan. This Affordable Step by Step Energy Performance Plan details our costs for carrying out the work recommended in your Energy Performance Certificate and could give you the option of spreading the payment for any works we carry out over a 12-36 month period.
